It seems you can never have enough USB ports. Now I have enough connections to stop the unplugging/plugging in different devices routine which at the same time reduces wear and tear. With the Sabrent 4-port hub I can disable any conflicing devices with the individual switches or reduce 5V power consumption of the USB.

One out of two items sent was defective. Would not mount properly into Windows system. Eventually traced to defective cables, and bad switches. Cable is too small and weak, easily damaged. Newer models have heavier stronger cable. We believe that these are old factory rejects, being dumped at discount. All of these models have a too-short cable, which makes it difficult, if not impossible, to use in any large tower system. We had to put on usb-extensions to make the useable ones reacheable. Kind-of defeats the purpose of the cheap price.

This switched 4-port hub is exactly what I needed to easily control connections to Arduinos and Raspberry Pi's during development. For anyone who needs this functionality, get this item. I was impressed by its quality. Just realize that it doesn't support USB 3.0.

I have tried other 4 port adapters, for use with my in-dash nexus 7 car install. and by far, this one is the most stable. The previous brands i used, would always have a loose connection, But the usb's fit nice and snug in the sabrent adapter. (perfect for my car reverse camera connection),

Works well; [1] drawback - USB cable is "short-"{4"}- I would prefer one 8" long; easy to use and is convenient. prrble
