What was old is new again.
New foil, sharp razor, buzz buzz, shave everyday and you're OK. A a quality replacement part for a middle market shaver. It's as good as a buzzy shave is gonna get. In my opinion, a little pricey. . . but I admit it, I'm cheap. Nonetheless, the metal to metal cutter performs well and lasts a reasonable amount of time. Pop Up trimmer is great too. The rest is just an FYI Braun used to make premium appliances with all the cache that went along with uber German quality (and price). Max Braun engineered the foil shaver in 1938 (Wikipedia) and began producing the S50 in 1951. As luck would have it american big business bought it up and now Braun is just another name in US manufacturing history. However, Gillette owned it for a time and somehow the high quality of the reciprocating blades lingers on. Though cheaply made iterations lack the 'bulletproof' quality of yesteryear these "old school" razors still deliver a close, comfortable shave as long as you maintain a short beard. Due to the 'disposable' nature inherent in rechargeable batteries, long service life isn't to be expected from the electronic parts. Not being able to replace the L ion batteries is tantamount to planned obsolescence.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New
