Great and quick results product
This is a good product to use to cold blue, but best if you strip the old blue and rust and prep the area to be blued. Once done, heat up the metal and then get a applicator or cotton ball and dab the perma blue on it. It will turn grayish white, and hot and apply again for a darker blue finish. Then the next step is to apply some gun oil to clean up the residue and you're done just let is cool done on it own. its that simple. I used it to refinish a recrowned barrel on a MN 91/30 rifle. Shipping was fast and used the product to update/restored a WW-11 Mauser Rifle. The material works very good if you take your time sanding down with 500/1000 grit wet sandpaper and 00 steel wool with many coats that are needed, have cleaned the rifle from all grease and used brake cleaner in spray can, done it on a dry day with many coats 15 min. to 1/2 hour intervals and left in the sun / in the end put Hoppes lubricating oil on it. Works great
Works great but can blue even better with the part warmed up some. When I first got this Perma Blue, I tested it on some scrap metal and it was very adequate for turning the metal black(ish). However, Tested it on another scrap but heated the metal up with a heat gun before applying the liquid and, the difference was huge. Get this or Super Blue
I consider perma blue to be a shade lighter than super blue. If this isn't dark enough get the super blue. Both look good but super blue seems to match the color of most of my guns better.
