Wicked Plants has a very broad scope, not much depth. I was not looking for textbook. Wicked plants guides us through the vast overwhelming complex of botanicals and others. Use this book to end confusion and target areas of interest. Then wade through the increasingly large body of research to find the desired specifics. On the down side are the cartoon drawings that litter some pages and the repetition of some questionable historic "factoids."

A great book for plant enthusiasts. Has very interesting and in-depth information about the more toxic and "special propertied" plants of the world; both well-known and those that are hardly heard of.

This is an entertaining and informative true facts book written with a wry sense of humor. Plants common and (here in North America) rare are detailed in all their potential malevolence. Consider it a sort of botanical "Inside Edition"!

It's not a novel so it's not really compelling. However, it is well researched and useful for training children to be safe in the woods.

This book is very interesting view of the dark side of botany. Though most of the plants she wrote about, I already knew they were poisonous and or just a little scary to be around. The stories and history behind the knowledge of each plant made it worth learning about all over again. It is a reminder of just because it's a pretty plant doesn't mean it wont kill you. Truly an exciting read of good plants gone bad.
