I purchased this book for an upper level invertebrate zoology course. It's figures are clear and helpful when the lab specimens aren't. This book is an easy read compared to most other bio books. Since there are so many species incuded in this publication, most of the information is very general. To know the details of a specific organism I've had to go to other sources. It was on the expensive side, but worth the money because of it's simplicity.
I would like to point out, this book is the international version, therefor it as a PAPERBACK. Not hardcover. I bought this book because I at my university they were selling the American version for 170$ and I got this one (international version) for much less, 50$. Overall I am very satisfied with this book. So far I have not seen anything different from the American version. The pictures and writing are pretty much the same.
I decided to buy it b/c it was WAY cheaper than the price at my college bookstore - over $120 cheaper! And it's the exact same text with the exact same information. I do wish it had a hard cover but that didn't stop me from buying it and using it - plus it makes it a little lighter to carry in my book bag!
This book is used in many Biology classes and is a very helpful reference. This book has helped me a lot in getting the most updated information in my Biology classes. Well-written book!
i received the book extremely fast and it was exactly what i wanted. i am very pleased with my purchase
