Product Information
In Dynasty Warriors 6: Empires, players wield legendary weapons and command massive armies, to reunite their nation under one flag. As in earlier Empires editions of the long-running Koei series, players can conquer a map of ancient China through turn-based strategy play, and then conquer the battlefields through third-person combat, in the fast-paced, heroic-action style for which the Dynasty Warriors titles are known. As players take the role of lord, their orders are given and policies are enacted through the play of a card-collecting game. Different cards are played, in turn, to take different diplomatic and military actions, with the selection of cards available based on the lord's officers and army. In the role of an officer, players pledge allegiance to a kingdom, and in return receive military missions of great reward, as well as influence with the kingdom's decision-making war council. Many of the characters featured in the game are based on the history and legends of the Romance of the Three Kingdoms era, but players can also create a custom warrior character, choosing their hero's gender, physique, skin tone, facial features, and weapon. For fans of the series who already have their copies of the initial release of Dynasty Warriors 6, the Empires edition offers an additional playable character and new weapons and move sets for six of the existing heroes, as well as new stages and missions. A local, offline multiplayer mode is available for two players.
i recommend this over 7 and if your a dw fan than you will love it.
excellent game. i like the empires better than regular. if you know dynasty warrior games than this one is kinda the same. they dont change much. same ideas. like story lines. you can create players on this one. a few things i am not fond of. like the hitting sequence is now broken up. if you hit, hit, hit than try to power hit for combos it stops your hits and goes to a power hit. instead of continuing the hits in a row like it used to. but i still love this one more than any other one. i bought this one before i bought 7. lol. not saying 7 is bad but 6 empires is better tome.
Yes, this is the same old Dynasty Warriors, and what's wrong with that? Nothing! If you are a fan of the series you'll love this game. If you aren't, and it's your job to review games even though you don't really know what they are about, then you're bound to not like the game so much.
If you're the kind of person who likes to rent dime-a-dozen sports games every weekend then this game isn't for you. Dynasty Warriors is about repetition. It's the repetition that is fun to some people. So for Gamespot to give the game poor reviews because the game is repetitive is just ridiculous.
I gave this game a 10 even because I love it and I think it deserves more recognition than what it has been given.
Here's a small list of things I like most about Dynasty Warriors:
1. Lasting replayability. You could send weeks playing this game. And if you are a fan of this genre then you'll be able to play it even longer.
2. Leveling characters. In Dynasty Warriors when you play you don't feel like you are wasting your time. You get to have your fun and actually get somewhere, even if it's just single player.
3. Items drop. Once you reach the end game in Dynasty Warriors you can go item hunting. For rare weapons and for rare horses and the like. It's very much like a single player MMO.
Once again, you'll love this game if you are capable of loving this kind of game. It's not for everybody.Read full review
The game is very fast paced strategic game. This is just like all the other dynasty warrior and samurai warrior games. So if you like them, there is no doubt that you will enjoy this game as well. Koei just keeps improving the physics engine, the characters and graphics. So if you aren't tired of hacking away at warriors with a whole bunch of characters you won't remember the name of, this game is certainly for you.
Pros:
Great graphics
A lot of customization and characters
Large maps, a lot of quests to do
Cons:
Can get repetitive if you don't truly enjoy these mindless hack n' slashes. This has more development in the combo system than most, but still the same concept.
