This score has a continuous theme, which I love in OSTs. I remember that theme all my life and it is very sad sounding. It hints at the underlying tragedy of this whole story. Its a horror film but mot in the typical sense where there is an evil monster or maleficent spirit. The opening of the score is amazing, giving off this epic orchestra into which sounds like something from a big 1940s film. Then that sad underlying theme starts. There is a harp under the theme and it makes me think of a creepy laboratory where something bad is going to happen. Then there is the physical portion of the soundtrack. The cover is 3D and its really cool. The vinyl itself is an amazing erie looking green. I always feel record companies always skimp though. They could add like an insert. Stickers or a booklet. Some vinyls do have that stuff. I have an old rock album that included an iron on decal of the bands logo. Its those little details we record collects go crazy over. The Fly unfortunately didn't do anything like this. Still an amazing score. Read full review
