This was a pleasant surprise...never heard of it...but well worth a watch. While obviously meant for a middle-aged audience, it will inspire any age group. Basically, Gere portrays a fairly successful businessman who realizes he needs something more to make himself happy - and he goes for ballroom dancing! What's interesting is not only his own transformation, but how others are affected...rather wonderfully, by the way. If you're in the mood for an up-lifting, fun movie...this just might fill the bill. (How much did I like it? True story: I bought the first copy at a garage sale - it was so damaged I had to keep taking it out of the DVD player and washing it {3 times} in order to see the entire thing. Liked it so much, I bought a brand new copy.)

I bought this movie for a friend who was homebound with stage 4 stomach cancer. It’s one of my most favorite ‘happy’ movies snd I was hoping she might enjoy seeing it again. Unfortunately she passed away long before the time they gave her — so I am enjoying it for her. Even if the movie was boring as heck — Richard Gere is worth every cent!
