I also have a vivoactive 3 which has most of the features and functions of the venu but I kind of prefer the always on trans reflective face better on the va3 for general all day use even if the venu’s display has more pop. Thought it would be a good step up, but they are both great, but very similar in tracking features.

Everything is fine, except the darn mandatory updates. Everything they send software updates, something breaks and I'd have to reset or restart the device. Its annoying. Charger is starting to be finicky. I'm starting to have to play with the connector to get it to charge.

Overall, very pleased with this purchase. The watch shipped quickly. When I opened the box, the watch looked and functioned as if it was brand new. Charging cable and instructions were inside the box. Setting the watch up with my phone and linking it to other fitness apps was easy. Long story short, basically got a great fitness watch that retails around $350 for about $170.

I love all the things it does, especially a full analysis of my sleep each night. Unfortunately it can't differentiate between lying in bed reading and actual sleeping; it calls reading "Light Sleep". But what it does is amazing. I've never had a GPS watch, and the fact that it records my bike rides and lets me play them back on a map afterwards, even telling me things like elevation change. I just wish it had a "pause" button so it doesn't assume I'm riding zero MPH the entire time I go in a store to shop; really affects my average speed. There may be a way to do this, I just haven't found it yet. I'm still learning how to use it, but once I got used to it, most of the functions were pretty obvious. One thing I wish is I could select "Tennis" as an activity to track, but I just call it running and it gives me good enough metrics I guess. And again, it may be an option somehow and I just haven't figured it out yet. All in all, very happy with it! Read full review

I used Garmin Vivoactive HR with its transflective screen before, so this Venu with Amoled screen looks much better indoor. However, once outdoor, this Amoled screen is harder to read and also it drain battery much faster, and might not even last during your 5-6 hour hike or bike ride... you have to make sure you have the watch 100% charged before you start, whereas with Vivioactive I did not have to worry about it.
