I ordered the mahogany finish. I received a reddish purple painted guitar. Music 123's return policy made it a very "money losing prop." to send it back. Out of the box, the frets had been cut to length with a chain saw. No way to play it without severe damage to my fingers. Took a long time to file them. Frets had been installed with no attention to evenness or smoothness. Took hours to straighten them enough to play. Still haven't been able to get the action low enough. There is a bad rattle at the top E string that I have not been able to solve. Beware: you are buying a guitar KIT that will take a LOT of work to make usable. Give it to a beginner. and they will never want to play a guitar again. A really bad experience.

Great guitar... i'm a hugh fan of Dean guitars, I was just disappointed with the action, alittle too high, but i guess thats my preference, guitar is in excellent shape, no scratches or anything. It was completely out of tune but thats prob from shipping. Overall I'm very satisfied with the "Dean Evo" i'll be taking it for new strings and adj action this weekend, but even with that, playing it you can still hear that its got a great solid sound. And its light, a little smaller than my 7string Washburn, (duh), I was looking for a nice Dean to add to my collection (LTD, Washburn, Ibanez, Jackson) now all i need is a schecter and a Dean ML
Yes, it is a less expensive guitar, but if it has a great sound, feels good, and looks pretty, it is valuable. I like the play ability, sound from the pickups, overall construction, and subdued color. Great job by Dean!

My son seems to like it the most out of three other low price guitars. He says the action and smoothness of the neck makes it the easiest to play and the hummbucker pick up have a very full sound. For the price it is a good guitar for the beginner or the pro.
Solid and sturdy.
