The Br-1200 is packed with features, making it a potentially great home recording studio. Even with it's DVD style instruction manual, it can be difficult to understand. Oh how I wish someone would make instructions, DVD or written, that were easy to follow! They need to be written by someone who is unfamiliar with the item and will truly give a step by step explanation of how to accomplish each task. That said, the BR-1200 has great effects for guitar and vocals. It's master tool feature for editing is difficult to navigate, but sophisticated. In conclusion I can see why many eventually move to computer/software based recording systems. The ease you think you'll find with this unit just isn't there. Might as well put your effort into learning a computer software system that has fewer limitations.Read full review
Best for the price-get one now. Find one from an e-bay store and save money. Drum patterns are okay, but not good for metal. This unit does not replace a good drum machine but has the ability for you to make your own if you have days to spare. I found it easy to figure out by using the manual. Easy to use the mastering kit and burn to CD. I use a condensor mic and the phantom power works great-no need for a mic pre-amp. Comes with lots of mic effects and mastering effects.
awesome product!!! about an hour after opening the box and including hooking the instruments and amps up I was making recordings and editing a rough cd pretty simple operation. the manual is 350+ pages long and i have yet to read it all , if i get stuck and need help its pretty easy to look up what i need in it. lots of e-z composing features I have yet to use but overall i would recommend it to all who want an excellent home studio. remember it is pretty much a computer so it does need to boot up when its turned on and off and switching from song to song takes a minute but well worth the price.
For a multitrack easy to use machine, this is by far the best for the price. If you can get by with 12 tracks, this is your recorder.I also record with protools and Logic studio on m Mac.The Br1200 is great for laying down tracks and mastering your recordings to CD fast.
Apart from no power supply which was easy to get, this unit does everything I need to do. Great quality product
