Perfect replacement for worn fob. I did need to replace the remote board from the old FOB to the new FOB to avoid reprogram the fob, the key (by pushing out the roll pin) so I didn't need to have the new key cut, and swap the RFID pill . It looks like a grain of rice. It's located in the old FOB inside the screw-on key flip button cover. You need to remove the VW emblem and screw for access.

Still need to find locksmith to cut key. But following youtube video. I popped door lock and was able to program the remotes with one key. No need to pop the lock if you have 2 keys. The video was to program passat but my jetta was same.
