Great mic only if you understand it.
I on a bunch of audio mics. 4 on7’s. This mic has incredible sound quality. actually Had singer say it sounds to much like himself. Front to rear ratio is one of top in industry. You need loud monitors this is your tool. Start with input gain about 3-6 dB hotter than most mics. High pass a must. Once artists are up and Going I usually adjust the high pass up to about 150 plus on the monitor board. "A great live performance mic."
I have used Shure and Sennheiser microphones, but could never seem to get the right response for my vocals -- always seemed to have to "push" my vocals, which was a lot of work, and never seem to reproduce my natural tone. Then, one night at an Open Mic, I used an OM7 that was onstage...WOW! I could sing effortlessly at low and high volumes -- and the tone was fantastic! After doing some research as to technically what made the OM7 different, it was apparent that there was a difference in the design, which translated to great performance.
