Stunning record quality. Not for all occasions!
The Shure MX393/0's sound pickup is so good it's tempting to overdo -- and for all the wrong occasions. Well suited for interviews, small discussion groups, homeowner meetings. Amazing what just a couple of these phantom-powered omnidirectional mics can pick up. Of course, not intended for use with PA systems because of its virtual 360 degree pickup pattern and feedback potential. And be forewarned of more pronounced loud room AC and unwanted sound sources -- street noise, rattling papers, etc. All that having been said, the MX393/0's are lifesavers for boosting faint voices and must-hear comments. Place two of these on a small conference table and you've got a dragnet capable of picking up half a dozen participants, easily and clearly. Low profile mic design is unassuming and soon unnoticed.
