Exceptionally strong value for the money
Audix knocked it out of the park with this series. I've been using these mics for years. A great, moderately priced alternative to the higher end "d-" series. This was what my budget would allow, but as a non-professional drummer who knows what sounds good and what doesn't these mics are an exceptionally strong valued item. What they may lack in absolute transparency compared to the d- series, they make up with a bit of natural warmth. Very sturdy and functional design. The mic clip is bulletproof and built in. That in and of itself is a HUGE benefit. I recently considered making an upgrade to the d- series, but decided instead to spend the money on upgraded cables.
