I like my Hobart N50 Stand Mixer. This is a very strong and heavy mixer with all metal components including gears and gear housings. As a mechanical engineer with years of machine design and development background, I know that with reasonable care I will not be buying another mixer in my lifetime. I chose this product as my home mixer because I make lots of bread and other heavy doughs. I also use the 20 and 60 quart versions of this mixer on an almost daily basis and those machines never break. I would not choose this machine if all I made were cake batters, sponges, and other light products. Instead I would have chosen a high end Kitchenaid or Cuisineart because of their lower cost. Luckily I was able to find an N50 in almost pristine condition on eBay for less than half the current $2035 list price. Otherwise I could not have afforded this premium product.Read full review
