Insights we westerners miss that are worth learning.
Our group has thoroughly enjoyed studying this material, though it is great reading on its own. There are some gaps relating to the Septuagint that are important but don't detract from the message. I find that studying first century Jewish and middle eastern customs and traditions helps flesh out Jesus life and teaching. So many wonderful "a-ha!" moments.
