This is the book that I used for my first semester of undergraduate fluid mechanics. I liked the writing style and examples enough to purchase the text for my personal library after the new edition came out. I have looked at the 7th Ed. and don't really see the need to upgrade as I am happy with the content of the 6th.
Softcover SI International Edition. Made cheaper for international students on developing countries. So, paper not as fancy as the US Edition Information EXACTLY the same, except all problemsexamples are in SI units ONLY. Good buy for students on a budget.
SI VERSION: I purchased the international version in place of my US required text book. So far it has everything in it. The only difference I've come across is the cover is orange with out a picture and the pages are of less quality. But does it bug me? Heck no. Screw those prices for glossy pages!
I bought this SI only version of the text instead of the $130.00 text sold at my school. Some problems are a little different, but the over all lesson is the same and straight forward. I recommend international versions for students who are low on funds.
The book is great. It covers the material and gives the equations for understanding and analyzing fluid mechanics. Of course the material is a bit difficult; but with patience and study you can eventually wrap your mind around the concepts.
