Adam-12 second season continues to bring out that Jack Webb style of law enforcement shows. What makes Adam-12 unique is the fact that Martin Milner (Malloy) and Kent McCord (Reed)both had to receive and accomplish standard LAPD Academy training before taking these parts. You can see alot of 1970's era police tactics adhered to through out the series. In addition, the episodes are all based on actual events and police reports on file with LAPD. I miss this kind of show and wish there were some way of respectfully bringing it back with actors that gave the profession credit as these two. Martin Milner and Kent McCord changed the lives of many young American boys and girls who pursued their dreams and became police officers themselves...me included, now entering my 26th year of service. Theyn Need to release all seven series.Read full review
The greatest cop show ever! Created by R.A. Cinader and Jack Webb. Martin Milner and Kent McCord star as Los Angeles policemen, Pete Malloy and Jim Reed, who patrol the late 1960's streets of L.A.'s Central Division. Police procedural, and based on true stories (like Dragnet), Adam-12 set itself apart from other cop shows, where the main characters were patrolmen instead of detectives. Episodes realistically portrayed the dramatic, comedic and monotonous side of police work. Martin Milner and Kent McCord's characters are believeable, and their dialogue natural. Better than any of the cop shows on tv today. Released by Shout Factory (thank you, thank you), the 4 dvd set includes extras: promo trailers, commentraries from current and former Los Angeles police officers, tours of the Los Angeles Police Academy and LAPD museum. Hope the third season will be released soon.Read full review
I really enjoyed watching this show as a kid and renewed my enjoyment when I found it running on MeTV and Netfix. Unfortunately both dropped the show so now I am able to enjoy it on DVD at my convenience and indefinitely. Looking to buy the rest of the seasons during this next year. Sad to hear of the passing of Martin Milner in September 2015. Bill M.

Comparing the Adam 12 series with the newer cops&robbers tv shows is like black&white. Hollywoods tv version of L.A. cops showed caring, unfettered honest cops in their purest forms, a far cry from what we see today both in the news and tv shows. The acting and camera work are both good and if you have a sharp enough eye you can see plenty of OPPSIES. In some scenes Malloy and Reed are in a 68 Plymouth and the next it's a 67. One shot and you'll see a tan interior and the next it's black, funny stuff. I bought it for the cars, as an old car buff I love seeing the old 50s and 60s cars in the background. Everything from a 62 Lark to a 66 Charger to a 68 Shelby Mustang, back when they were still new...Oh be still my pattering heart......
my son has watched this on the youtube and loved it so I got it for him for christmas so he can watch it anytime he wants to as he loves this series.

"One Adam twelve, SI, the man." "I mean, ya go'a stand up for the cats in blue....without them you'd have...fr-fr-friggin anarchy, man." Adam-12, the show that best portrays our fine men and women in law enforcement. And the truly noble service they perform. A must have!
