I did not realize it had a 3 pin plug, and am using it on a older Dell. Using the tip of an exacto knife I raised the tabs and slipped out the metal clips on both my old battery and this one. I clipped the white wire, and inserted the black and red into the plug shell from my old one. It works great, and was way less than an exact replacement, in fact it now is an exact replacement.

This battery works great; it fixed the BIOS resetting when I removed the main laptop battery when it was unplugged. These laptops are older but I hate to throwaway good hardware and it end up in the landfill. If you have older hardware consider Linux for the "outdated" unsupported Microsoft Windows systems you may have.
