If you want light but effective deadening, the Dynamat Xtreme wedge pack does a lot with less.

My pack came 3.45 in lenght height was close to the description of what i was getting all in all 4 foot in size would of improved those deep spots i wanted to clear up. Make a little go a long way
Cut this single 18"x32" sheet into pieces to dampen two car doors. Obviously not enough material to 100% cover the panel surfaces, but by "pinging" the surfaces and strategically applying Dynamat I was able to dramatically reduce unwanted resonances.
