The success that the old i-MIG inverter series enjoyed is a thing of legend. In honor of the whirlwind storm that was created in the market when the i-MIG series was released, Everlast has once again stirred the dust with the all new Cyclone 140E.
I bought two new welders so I could load one with steel welding wire and the other with silicon bronze brazing wire. I have tried them both out and have been impressed. The Mig with steel wire does a much better job then an older 4 position Thermal-Arc Mig. The sharp and defined "crackle" heard during the arc using the Everlast is almost unheard of, pun intended, when using the Thermal Arc machine. I am still new to Silicon Bronze Mig brazing, so the jury is still out there. I have successfully used it to fill some rusted out pin holes, and there is no way I could have done that using the Mig welder, since there was so much rust. It would have just blown out and I would have had a huge glob of steel wire once I found good metal to weld to. The brazing still blew out the rust, but, the filling operation was so much easier, and grinding was easier as well. So far so good after a month or so of sporadic use.
