I have long wanted this knife, just seems there was always another priority. Finally purchased and I am not disappointed. Craftsmanship and quality are just as one would expect from Buck Knives. I have folding knives made by Buck but needed a good hunting knife. This one does not disappoint. It feels good in the hand. Well balanced and superbly constructed. Equal to or better than knives I have seen that are much more expensive. Dollar to value it is a super deal. I look forward to having it with me hunting for hopefully many years. I fully expect it to be used after me by my Son and Grandsons. No doubt from the quality it will last. The good for a lifetime warranty can't be beat. Last but not least the leather sheath accompanying the knife is of equal quality and should last many, many years. Read full review

Specs, 7 3/8" blade, 6 11/16" cutting edge, 4 1/2" handle, 11 7/8" overall. Blade is 1 1/16" wide, 5/32" thick. Knife is 8.40 oz. Handle is smooth fitting and very comfortable. Beautiful black sheath; will fit over a 2 1/2' web belt. My only negative was heavy grind marks on the blade. Should have been polished out, considering the cost, even at a discounted price. Cosmetic, however, and can be fixed. Still a great, made in the U.S.A., knife. Highly recommend.

There are very good reasons this knife has been in production since 1955. Buck is the best knife company I know of, and I've dealt with all the major ones. Extremely high value with unparalleled service. I own many great blades, including antiques, customs and semi-customs. I'm not aware of anything that beats Buck in performance for the money value. The service and USA production are icing on the cake. This example is the Wal-Mart package that comes with a nylon sheath. The 119 I just bought 12/16 is leather. I got a special edition with red linen micarta handle and BOS S30V. The correct pronunciation of the blade type is boo-y.

I've owned this Buck knife for many years. It's an excellent value with a competitive price. I wish this knife had a true FULL TANG(where the blade and handle are of the same piece of metal which FULLY extends through the width and total length of the handle). The Buck 124 "Frontiersman" and the Buck "Kalinga" are true full tang knives and both are stronger models. I own several of each model. In a survival scenario a full tang blade is a necessity!! Go Buck!!

Does everything I want it to do and than some! Great shape and very sharp! Fits well in the hand. The knife cuts well, stays sharp, has a good long blade but handles well when skinning an animal and cleaning to pack it out.
