There actually are less-expensive brands. I have found that they work but unfortunately they leave an annoying residue that takes longer to clear off the hands. Dial works for me.

This is some of the worst soap I've used. The scent seems different than the old Dial soap. But I could live with that. This soap does not lather-up AT ALL. It seems a little watered-down from the original Dial, but not enough that I care. But the lack of lather means you have to use a lot more of it. I'm actually going to try to water it down *more* and try it in a foaming soap dispenser and see if it works. But I'll likely switch to a different brand. Very disappointing. On the plus side, the soap was packaged well and arrived undamaged. (No leaks, etc.)

I like that it uses benzalkonium, which is supposedly safer than the previous anti-bacterial agent. For the amount of soap you get, it's not a bad value. Tried to shower with it. It worked, but left me feeling a bit dry. It also took quite a bit of soap to get it to lather up. It's probably best used on hands, not as an overall body wash. I start with dry hands, work it in all over, then use water to finish it off.
