Does the job in fine fashion with one little hitch.
The unit works fine and as designed, that is not the issue. There are two things that will frustrate a new owner of the product. First is the cost of the batteries to keep the unit functioning. However, there is an easy fix if you are at all handy and the cost falls dramatically. Second is if you have a rough house dog or more than one dog and they play hard you will find yourself hunting down the pieces parts of your collar, a lot. The collar design makes changing the battery an easy chore. That same ease of access is why you will chase the parts down as a tooth or toenail hooking the case pops it right apart. Again this is an easy fix if you are handy with good electrical tape. Overall I am more than pleased with the door that this collar operates and the collar(s) I have. Having three dogs it is a real convenience to have. I would have gladly given a 5 star rating save the two issues mentioned. Both I have solved but to those who are not handy they will be an issue so no 5.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Ultimate convenience
These transmitters are so durable. I just ordered a second one for a second dog, but I have used my first one for three years without any problems. The batteries last for months. Our dog is a small Maltese mix and the transmitter is very small and light. The ultrasonic signal does not seem to bother my dog in any way. Sturdy, not too heavy for a small cat

Electrical Tape
Put electrical tape around to keep sensor from popping open. Shop for collars that have buckles, the hook up that they have on the collars are a pain. I use finger nail polish to keep ends from raveling. They say the batteries last three years, but guess they are not testing them with my dogs. They enjoy going to the door and just checking the weather several times an hour. My batteries last less than a year. You can find good buys for batteries on eBay.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New
