I wanted a bass drum muffler that didnt look like a laundry basket in my bass drum. This product looked good. I wasted my money. It doesn't sou d good after numerous adjustments. A rolled towel or small pillow is better

I use the Evans EQ Pad in three of my bass drums (16 X 20", 16 X 22", 16 X 24"). I typically run an unported reso head on all my bass drums because I want to hear the tone of each drum. I do not like stuffing my kick drums full of "laundry" producing a dead thud. I want to hear the TONE of each drum. The primary reason I like this product is it spans a 16" bass drum with virtually no muffling; I just have them mounted to absorb internal frequencies. I recently switched my batter heads to Aquarian Force I clears, so I now have the pad angled at about 30 degrees against the batter head. In my 20" and 22" kick drums I've added a second EQ pad (they velcro together to one another) and I have the second EQ Pad slightly touching the reso head for a little bit of dampening. My 24" kick is fine with just a single EQ Pad. This produces an awesome tone to my ear with minimal muffling. The pads stay secure. Great product. Perhaps considered pricey by some drummers, for me it's all about value because it works, it stays in place, and it produces the sound I want.Read full review

When I received this pad, I was NOT happy! It is very thin, very lightweight and did not appear as if it would do what I wanted it to do. It also did not match the pad that I had purchased, previously. HOWEVER, I took a chance an installed the pad and, MAN!! I couldn't be happier!! Works like a charm and just a good as the larger pad I bought previously!

I’m old school, throw a pillow or blanket in the base drum push it around inside and find the sound you want. I found that this not only looks bad but is unpredictable when moving from gig to gig. I decided to give the EQ pad a try and was completely satisfied with my purchase. It was a good buy, looks good, and sounds great. I would suggest this product to any drummer who not only wants to sound good but also takes pride in looking professional.

I bought my first EQ pad just because it looked better than a pillow or a blanket. I put it in a Pearl Masters 22x18, slightly against the batter head. The drum sounds wonderful. I hate the flat "slap" sound a lot of guys get and tune my drums to have more of a deep resonant boom... this is perfect. I just bought another for my Reference kit. If you have a good drum to start with and need to control the overtones from either head, this is a wonderful and simple product that is adjustable. I have heard that Evans is discontinuing this thing. What a sad thing for guys who care about their sound.

Really nice bass drum muffler. Makes for a nice thud and looks more professional than a pillow. I understand that Evans has discontinued making them so you'd better jump on one soon!

This EQ pad made a noticeable difference in the 'thump' of my Pearl Export kick drum and put a big smile on my face. Also, I can put my kick drum mic inside on the pad to hold it in place so no need to use the velcro strips.

I like that it velcros to the bottom of the drum. The pad will rest against the drum head, when you hit the bass drum it knocks the pad off the drum head and since part is attached to the drum the pad falls back against the head and kills the ring. Every time you hit it bounces away and comes right back. It gives the drum a little more tone as apposed to being up against the head all the time.

It fits fantastic, made very well, BUT....its not weighted. You might as well lay a piece of crafting felt in your kick, SAME RESULT. Next time I will do more research
