To answer the question of where it's made: “Cree’s Watson said the LED chips are made in Durham, then sent to Asia, where the innards that produce the filament-like light quality that Cree says is so superior are assembled. Then it’s back to Durham for the rest of the bulb assembly and packaging.” In other words, mostly US components, probably sent to Asia for some delicate hand wiring type stuff that’s super labor intensive. The rest is interesting as well being a technology enthusiast, as well as a Made In USA guy! Not 100% American, but the fact that most (All? It’s hard to tell.) of the components are US was a surprise! I’d say aside from a few other really pricey companies I’ve bought from in the past, these are about as American as it gets!

So far they are working as expected. Seems to be good quality at a fair price.

I've found these bulbs seem to be better quality than others so I just buy them now.

It works as spec'd, dims great. I only just got it, so I'm not sure if it'll have a long life. We'll have to see.
