The only other pair that I ever used consistently from the time I was young was the Calato Regal Tip 5b(at first) then the 2b. Then around 10 years ago, I found these Vic Firth Buddy Rich signature series sticks. Perfect for me. The right balance, weight, just the right amount of shoulder, not an extreme tear drop shape tip and wood type. I can play fast and articulate and with high or low velocity. It doesn't make me work as hard as with the Calato pair I used to use. I have tried various others brands like Pro Mark, Zildjian and others. But I always come back to what works best for me. I can use these in any genre too.
