I bought 2000' of this cable a couple of weeks ago. Cable is marked direct burial and UV rated and it has the hard "plastic" feeling outer shell as opposed to the more flexible vinyl type jacket you would see connecting your TV to the wall. I ran one run of 2000' (2x1000') for an outdoor extended ethernet over coax application using a pair of TrendNet Mid-Band coaxial network adapters. Ethernet over coax is a cheap way to basically run an ethernet cable really long distances up to more than 1 mile whereas CAT5/6 is good for about max 300'). So far so good. I haven't tested the max throughput, although it is more than enough to support my 10Mb/s rural internet connection with literally zero latency through the converters and over the cable. We will see how it does in our extreme mountain weather (1.8F last night - up to 100F+ in summer) over the long run. So far I am very satisfied and using this method was much more reliable and faster than my previous 900MHz wireless setup and much cheaper than fiber.Read full review

Got it and it's 1,000 ft but not double shield, and the one shield it has is very thin. I only needed 200 ft and the signal was too weak. Ended up buying 2 100-foot cables from ACE Hardware which worked fine. Disappointing.

Converting power and utilities to underground. Quantity allowed me to run an additional backup line for future use without having to excavate.
