Well priced, no fuss 'get the job done' product. Repaired rocker cover mounts on Motorcycle. The inserts were good quality, tails snapped cleanly, tap provided clean cut and insert tool worked a treat. To do a good job you do need a proper tap wrench and I also advise cutting fluid to give a clean cut finish.

insert is placed inside the big piece which is plastic and then you have to turn the inner screw that has a very small square top. Couldn't fit any socket to it so I used a small visegrip to turn the screw and drive the insert into the bore. you just have to guess that the big piece and the bore are somehow aligned. mind boggling

This is a well made, and proven thread repair kit. I was able to repair my M6 x 1.0 threads with ease. The only thing that HeliCoil does not state on their instructions, which would be helpful to me, is how the installation tool functions to pre-wind the insert for easy installation. Also, I find that if you pre-wind the insert only a couple of threads beyond the tool tip that this helps to start the insert in to the repair area.

I’ve used these kits in various sizes for years. They always work perfectly as long as you take care in drilling and tapping and installing the insert. Easy to follow instructions included.

Fixed my stripped bike fork for $20. I tore off one of the tabs figuring out how to work the tools. Installed two of them in my fork. Still have a few left for the next thing I break. Drill with 1/4”, tap it (I used a small wrench to turn the tap), then the install part. Everything works but can be finicky
