Works well! As the original mags should. Spring is really stiff, as it should be when brand new. The 10th round takes a little bit of effort to get in as is should. I always leave my mags with a couple rounds missing to save on the spring. Another Happy 2nd amendment supporter right here.

It is very difficult to load the 10-round magazine. To load the first round takes a lot of effort and multiple attempts. The spring tension is much too high. It should be constructed with a much lighter spring. The original 17-round magazine is far easier to load. The 10-round magazine should be constructed with similar spring tension to that model.

I think since it’s a California special, it’sa bit expensive. The quality is on point though. Fit perfectly, you just have to remove tacky film from production. Use alcohol and a rag. Very high quality. Will use as backup mag.

Great magazines compatible with both the full size and compact (additional sleeve from S&W for $1 each) S&W M&P pistols. As has always been the case, loading the tenth round into this magazine is more difficult than the last round in any other S&W magazine. Not sure why that is - but not a problem.
