    1. Use a bike frame which already has 26" tires. It will save a lot of headaches. My first attempt was on an old road bike which had 700c tires. This kit wheel could be mounted but the existing brake calipers didn't line up and there was not room to mount the kit supplied disc brake Can't recommend riding with only the front brake. 2. The supplied hand brakes have a cut out switch for safety but may not be usable if your bike has a combined handbrake-gearshift configuration. You will have to keep the existing handbrakes. 3. I have the wheel mounted on a Diamondback Comfort bike which came with 26" fat tires. Using a 48V20AH lithium battery pack top speed is 28-31 mph on a flat surface with no headwind.

  • Works Flawlessly

Took me a couple of days to install it working on it about 2 to 3 hours a day, But you could definitely do it in one day. It also took me longer only because I was swapping out my front fork and had to make some other adjustments at the same time otherwise the actual motor and controller would have been installed faster. Check out YouTube as there are a number of good videos of people that have done this before and you'll know where any potential pitfalls are or just how to do simple things like get your hand grips off with a simple trick with alcohol and they'll slide right off. About the only negative I could say is I don't really like the brakes as much or the brake handles I should say as my brakes don't have that snappy feel that they used to before but they still work perfectly fine. For me personally I'm also going to get a full size throttle because the half throttle starts to fatigue your hand as it's very large when you're writing for a long time. You can always use the cruise control which I do when I know I'm going to be on a long straightaway or I'm on a slow casual drive-thru a park or preserve. You definitely want to get a good quality battery even if you only buy a 13 or 15 amp per hour battery. I bought a 20 amp hour and they easily get 40 to 45 miles using just the motor itself and even though I'm about 260 lb but solid as I do work out I've gotten close to 30 mph with it. I've recently knocked off about 30 lb and the acceleration even with the battery down to half power is still pretty amazing as it feels like two people are pushing the bike from behind. Just as a safety warning I would recommend getting some kind of bright green vest or a fluorescent riding jacket because even though I have four bright headlights and extremely bright 200 lumen tail lights on the bike and a 100 decibel horn people for some reason just don't see you. So I would definitely say to get that for safety is reasons and of course we're a helmet. I have over 800 miles on my motor so far and I can't wait for the warmer weather as I'll be right there with it at least once if not twice a day. The control is excellent as you can really get very fine control as far as speed from just a couple of miles per hour all the way up to full speed. The display is excellent which gives you full information that you need and it has a nice backlight to it as well along with the five level pedal assist. I had to buy a different pedal assist controller because my bike is 20 years old and it didn't work with my specific pedals but the unit itself did work fine that came with the kit. The motor cut offs work excellent as well with the brakes as soon as you touch the brakes you lose power and when you release the brakes you have power once again. The only slight issue I had which some other people mentioned with these kids is my derailleur won't allow me to go into the 7th gear on this particular sprocket that came with the motor hub. I tried adjusting the maximum settings on it and it's just not allowing the derailleur to move far enough. So that's just a minor thing really as I just leave it on the 6th gear and I adjust the front sprocket to make up the difference. I only use the pedals for the most part to assist on acceleration to save a little bit of the battery and less stress on the motor which makes a slight noise on low speed acceleration up to about 5 mph. The only other issue I have encountered is that the spokes often make a ticking noise. I'm not sure why but they are very strong and I have tightened them many many times and sometimes I get it quiet for a couple of hours but then it comes back. But I think it's just an anomaly with these electric motors due to the weight as I heard some other $2,000 ebikes that were bought at a bike shop doing the same thing as they slowly rode by me a few times. That's when I realized it wasn't my particular motor but probably just something with the design of them all. I tricked out my bike and now it looks like a motorcycle or at least a full moped which cars seem to think it is especially with all the lights I have on it as you can see in the pictures. But overall the system is working flawlessly and I am extremely happy with it. I plan on converting my daughter's bike so we can go longer distances together and one of my friends saw it and he was absolutely blown away by it as he bikes as much as he can back and forth to work in the warmer weather and he's very interested in getting one as well. Just as an additional note this seller was very very helpful in giving me the instructions for the display because I couldn't get the cruise control on and he was very patient and helpful and we eventually got it working. So this is a great unit and I would absolutely buy another one should it ever wear out in time as it's gotten me back on my bike everyday riding more and getting out in the fresh air and sunshine.

  • 48V 1000 Watt kit with 26 amp controller

Good smooth power, quiet, top speed for me was 35 mph with a 48V 20ah lithium battery on a flat, maybe faster with a lighter rider. Has enough torque to climb most hills without peddling, I weight about 210-215lbs. I had to make some changes to make everything work, like changing to a 6-speed free wheel instead of the 7-speed free wheel that came with the wheel. After several 25-30 mile rides in about 2.5-3 hours still plenty of battery left about 2/3. The cadence sensor or pedalec that came with the kit, working along with the smooth powerful motor is a plus. It has a throttle over-ride function that working along with the motor or throttle has 5 pedal assist levels and works just fine, and it can be set on the LCD screen of the speedometer. It can climb the steepest hills if it needed to. I climbed some hills to see what It would do and the throttle over-ride is like someone pushing you up the hill from the back. The motor just kicks in and takes over. I think if I wanted I could probably get close to 100 miles on a full charge using both the throttle along with the pedalec to extend the range. I had to re-adjust my derailer on the rear wheel and move it over to the right so that the chain wouldn't rub the wheel because of the change from a 7-speed free wheel to a six-speed but other than that I've put close to 500 miles on my bike and love it! Well worth the money spent.

  • Works flawlessly

I was somewhat skeptical at first, but my kit is working well. The motor appears to be a direct drive. I'm still setting up the pedal assist function, but throttle works well for everything that I want to do anyways. On flat grounds this motor can reach to upwards of 35 mph. Makes some noise, so I wouldn't recommend if you don't want people to know that its electric

  • This item works perfectly. I have no complain. It's worth the money I spent.

It works great. It's fast. The hardest part for me to install is the PAS sensor. I have to cut like 3/16" on the pedal arm so it can have enough gap for the sensor to fit. It's worth the price. It's strong motor.

  • Quality made & goes like the wind

Very pleased with the quietness and power of this wheel. This requires lithium battery power. Don't try lead-acid batteries like I did. Get a good lithium battery & proper charger.
