What I did notice is the bass. The bass is incredible, you can feel it. Mids and highs are crisp, clean, clear, even extremely loud like a Bose system just cheaper. Tested on rap, classical, techno, dance, hip/hop, rock, and heavy metal. One of logitechs best system right here. Now the cons. When playing music or a game with deep bass at a mid-loud to loud volume the surround on the sub hits the speaker protector making a thud sound destroying the effect of the bass. Logitech should have stuck it out further so the woofer has a free movement when playing lower freq. What I would do is take the protector off that there's free movement but only if you dont have young ones or pets that like to chew things thats what happened to my X-530 system the dog chewed the surround off the sub.
Bought my first set in 2005 brand new that is still running as good as the day I took it out of the box. Just picked up a "near new", used set here on Ebay. First set is still running like a champ 11 years later and I'm just as happy so far with the used set I just picked up for my work office. Currently running the work set directly from the headphone port on my smart phone. With proper speaker/sub placement (keep that sub out in open air and not under the desk) and tweaking down the output from the phone to eliminate too much gain from some source files, this is a pretty clean (and loud) sounding setup. It sounds really good and I just start laughing to myself out of joy sometimes when I crank it up. For a computer system it is really great. I've gotten a lot of compliments from passerby co-workers. It actually can't manage the midbass and bass load as well as my truck's system, but that is apples to oranges as the truck has a pretty decent and tuned SQL system with 2-12s. But I have turned this up when no one was around at work and I can get the bass funneling up the stairwell on the other side of the wall in my office. With this system you may notice quality issues when trying to run the source through your computer mic input then back out the speaker out. I tried this on my Dell docking station and the cheap electronics in there made a difference in quality opposed to running it directly to the speakers. However, I've never noticed sound degradation playing music files directly from my computer through the speakers at home. I highly recommend this, of course. I went out of my way to by a used discontinued model instead of one of the newer systems off the shelf. The quality has been outstanding for me and I didn't want to risk it. Tweak the speaker placement, the source input levels, and the bass adjustment on the wired remote. You'll have a fantastic sounding system. Read full review

On the whole, a great set of speakers for the price. Powerful enough, clear sound, solid bass, quality manufacture. For the most part, that is. I have had two sets of these, and both sets had one satellite that crackled and popped and buzzed with a defective cone. So I actually have only one set that works properly. Be very careful when buying used, and verify from seller if speakers are perfect. Get it in writing. If all components were perfect, I would have awarded five stars.
I love logitech Z-2300.... The incredible indoor sound that makes me feel great!!! The subwoofer is amazing but the only one problem is; the pair satellite speakers not support to much the loud volume, when you turn up the volume begin to distort and then stop playing. There are my second Z-2300 and had the same problem with both....(Buy, Enjoy Couple Days, Start to distort, stop playing... and finally end up looking for the warranty or making a replacement) But is very awsome sound for real !!!!!! I replace my satellite for BOSE 161 !!!!!!
i had klipsch pro media 2.1 just before i bought these logi z2300's, and let me tell you, the bass of the logi's is thumpin!!! the klipsch have better highs but their sattelite speakers are kinda big and get in the way compared to the logi's.ONE MORE IMPORTANT FACT!!! the klipsch speakers have no on/off button, so when you power down your computer the klipsch speakers buzz all day where the logi's have a standby button, deal breaker!!
