Clears smoke, but produces toxic levels of ozone.
This type of air cleaner works amazingly for getting smoke and other extremely small particles out of the air. However, they produce toxic levels of ozone. After running this unit overnight, my kids and myself woke up with a cough and a funny metallic smell in the air. (ozone) Since the description says nothing about toxic gasses, I feel as though people should be warned. In my research, modern smoke removal technology is simply high efficiency filtration, such as HEPA or MERV 13.

The Friedrich C90 "TRUE" electrostatic atand-alone air cleaner
An absolutely excellent performer. C90's were the "best-of-class" of "stand-alone" w/respect to particulate removal efficiency, background noise, and endurance. I've had 4 in a fairly large house that are still running after 18 years of 7x24x365!!!!
