Will only work on past windows products thru Vista. Will not work on Win 7 or newer. Us Robotics, now known as USR has no software updates for this product beyond Vista. If you plan using this on Win 7 or newer, it will not load.

The modem works ok and the driver software is alright. The control center was out of date and kept poping up annoying messages that I need to update my software. When I hit the update button it told me that no updates were available. I had to uninstall the control center because it would not stop sending messages to me to update the software and it was causing problems on my computer with other software. Overall the software is out of date, 2004 and causes problems with other applications. I would not recommend this product.
The modem was a bit pricier than most but works great. Microsoft lists this product as compatible with Windows 7 32-bit and 64-bit, which is why I opted to pay the extra expense. However, it should be noted that the drivers are not released by U.S. Robotics yet and so will not work until they have been released. I have used it in XP however and it works great.

ive tested several dial up modems and this model usr5699 just works. reliable and slightly faster as well as stable connections. the cost is more,but a 5 dollar modem night connect,but slower and not for long.
