I bought this brand new years ago and it still performs as good as when new. Have made many recordings with it from CD to CD, vinyl to CD as well as cassettes to CD. Vinyl (and cassette) to CD is the most difficult but not due to the machine. If you don't stop the recording procedure after each song (on vinyl) it records as if the whole side is one song. The recorder does not sense the break between songs. I especially like the ability to record at various speeds. Very time saving. I found that using a re-writable CD, especially to create a mixed artist CD and vinyl or cassette to CD was easier than tackling the task with no way to correct mistakes. The more you use the easier the operation becomes. I found it best to condense the steps by re-writing only what's necessary from the owner's manual. It does take some getting use to but it is well worth it. Read full review

I have owned this brand of recorder for many years. This is a great all around recorder for the do-it-yourself cd recording enthusiast. From the internal ability to make a cd for you from another cd, to using the input method to record any outside input with the input jacks on the back. This machine also has the ability to let you put a text or may I say a Title on the disc, that will be played on the newer players out ther that tell you the name of the cd or what song is playing, as the newer players can do. This little machine has a lot of great characteristics, and is a great little machine for the money! After all, Philips invented the CD. That is the reason I keep returning to this machine!
For a mint condition unit, I would expect that both the physical and operation capacities are MINT. That the Record tray does not open means this MINT unit is essentially worthless. It should have been sold as "Parts Only"

I should of knew with no pictures displayed with the cd recorder working it was a fraud. I purchased the cd recorder to burn cds after I'm done recording unfortunately can't do that. Missed my window to return this crap to so I hope this review will detour anyone else from buying.

well atleast its a good CD player. It doesn't burn CDs, like it should. I missed the 14 day return. i bought this product for my dad who likes to take his burned CDs to his job sites where they are likely to get scratched. A CD burner is also useful to copy vinyls to CDs. so he can listen to his fragile albums, on the go.
Please do not buy this b.s. it a peace of crap. This is the 3rd one for me. 3x. I was a fool so don't waste your money on this garbage not worth it. .
