Product Information
The Air King AK55L Ceramic Electric Ceiling Mounted Heater keeps you warm and comfortable during chilling winter days. This heater comes with an option of light combination i.e. extra light or no light and exhaust fan. It is designed to be installed on ceiling. This heater has heater blower wheel which is one piece metal and ventilation blower which is a polymeric piece and both are electronic balanced. The ultra safe ceramic element heats the surface at low operating temperature and provides 1,350 watts of power due to its self regulating design. The Air King heater has moonstone glass lens which is installed in a flip down lens holder. It requires type A lamp with 100-watt incandescent capacity. The duct collar is 4 round, zinc plated metal collar adapter which has aluminum back draft damper.Product Identifiers

Incomplete Design. Needs modifications and junction box before use. Does work.
I read the reviews. They looked OK. I decided on this unit because of the type of bulb used not how loud it was. For the price there are a lot of quiter units, but use special bulbs. My old unit had a spring loaded levers that held grid cover in place. Nice. This unit has 2 screws and nuts with no locking system for nuts. Screws are not long enough. So vibration will probably loosen nuts and cover will most likely fall. Nuts used are M4 .7 real small. Ran down to hardware store and bought threaded 6-32 6 inch long rod and lock nuts or nylon nuts and star lock washer nuts. Used dremel tool with carbide wheel to cut rod. Once complete a regular bulb does not fit. Need an aquarium type bulb. So I cut the piece of sheet metal that holds bulb cover together or keep it from expanding or falling apart. Used sheet metal screws on four corners to make bulb cover solid. Cut sheet metal support to make clearance for bulb. No place to put AC wire connections on unit. You will need to buy a junction box to place all home wires to be to code. Heater makes a real loud noise when first turned on. Like motor is stuck. Moved ceramic unit around and wires to make nose stop. Just that nose would have convinced me NOT to to buy this unit. Over all just JUNK. Bad design.
