Lee aluminum molds are the best value in bullet molds. The aluminum blocks do not rust like cast iron molds, and are lightweight for less fatigue and ease of use. You can also quickly switch to a different mold while casting, as it can be quickly heated by dipping the corner of the mold in the lead pot.
Finally, a lee molds that throws a .311 bullet for 30 cal rifles. This bullet is a good copy of the lyman 311041 and ideal for 30-30 win, 303 sav...any .308 diameter bore. Too small for 303 brit or 7.62x54r though. Need a .315/.316 bullet for that, sized to whatever your gun needs. I purchased the one for gas checks but now that I have discovered powder coating, I'd order the plain base one. As with most lee products, quality is very good and this thing throws a lot of bullets fast!
I have lee products and they are inovative, I have other brands and they are very good or better. But to get a mold like this in steel it would cost 3 or more times the price. I have yet to try the mold (too freaking cold outside), but the lee ones I have tried are good and work well. I am willing to risk the money spent to have a 6 cavity mold, a lot of time is saved by casting 6 in every fill. And it would not surprise me if it lasts a long time. Ask me again in a few years,,,that is a true test, the key is to learn and understand how to best use an aluminum mold, completely different beast from the steel/iron molds..
