8 port Analog Telephone
Purchased as a replacement for my other Linksys/Cisco SPA8000-G1 after 5 years in service two telephone ports died and one port the caller ID started to fail. So far so good as we are back up and running. Hope to get another 5 years out of this unit or more. Internal fan is little noisy but we have this in a cabinet so cannot hear it as bad as if it was out in the open. This unit did not come with a power supply so we reused the old one. Cross fingers it is still putting out power. AMP 25 pin telephone connector is a plus since we are terminated on a 66 Block which make it neatly wired. Also standard telephone jacks on back of unit so you can just plug a standard POTS phones in or use a base cord to wall jack for installation, I think it is just amazing now you can basically have your own private Telephone Central Office in your home or office. When I went to telephone school in the mid 90's the Nortel DMS-10 and 100 was still the big deal in telephone switching. Which was just about obsolete then. You had to go to a Teletype console to assign telephone # to LEN's which was slow and tedious. Now you can just use a Desktop or Laptop computer and point and click and wiz through it via a web browser. And tons of features the old DMS-10 or 100 never even came close to without additional cards and wiring and another 2X2X6 Foot of floor space required for another bay.Verified purchase: YesCondition: Pre-owned
