The Biffy album that was never meant to be an album (originally) - but my word, what a stunning collection of their songs - and doesn't it feel like it could have been produced as an album as opposed to a collection of singles. The first three tracks are quite simply absolutely stunning..!!! The rest is absolutely great - even if you think you have most of these tracks from the albums, the edit versions are fantastic in their own right. Some tracks show that Biffy always had one eye on the 'commercial market' - 'Questions and Answers' is nothing less than a rock/pop song really - but a superb one at that. But their more 'edgey' songs are the ones that get into your psyche - the songs work, when somehow they shouldn't work - you wonder what's coming next, where is it leading you? - It never fails to excite. How this band can conjour up so many works of shear class is incredible - the production is great - the sound quality is first class - the 'tightness' of the band is just so fantastic - especially when you consider the radical changes most of the songs go through. Exception stuff - For my mind, Biffy at their Best!Read full review
