This Brand new Boxed set of the history of Fenway Park is one excellent Packaged set of 6 great games. The only game that was not part of this boxed set that should have been included was the 1978 play off game between the Red Sox and the Yankees! If there was a game in the history of Fenway Park, that game played in October of 1978 and shown on ABC tv was played to a packed Fenway Park Crowd. It was a historic game and part of the Red Sox/ Yankees rivalry that would decide what team would go to the play offs. The Sox lost 5-4 to the Yankees thanks to Bucky Dents three run homer as Red Sox fans will always remember. But if Red Sox Nation really had the guts and courage and wanted to make this boxed set a real Fenway Park Essentials game set "ever played", this is one game that is missing in this set! (Because Red Sox Nation were the ones who picked these games by fan base voting polls) The 1967 first televised Game in color, played before the Red Sox clinched AL pennant was a really nice piece of history. Seeing Rod Carew as a rookie for the Minnesota Twins is really neat and Harmon Killbrew at his baseball peek was exciting too view. But the excitement of Carl Yastremzski at his Red Sox greatest and the "Impossible Dream" were all game wonders too cheer forever! Game Six of the 1975 World Series between the Red Sox vs the Cincinnati Reds, by far the greatest baseball game ever played is an added part of this boxed set! In 1986, one of the greatest achievements in baseball history, is the game with Roger Clemen's 20 strike outs of 20 Seattle Mariners batters is included as part of this set! The 1999 Baseball All-Star Game, the last to be played in the 20th Century at Fenway Park, with the announcing of the All Century Baseball Team with Ted Williams glorious ride saluting all the Fenway Faithful is given a standing ovation as the greatest hitter and Red Sox player of all time makes his way into the Fenway Park Night. And Pedro Martinez striking out five of the first six National League All Star batters he faces is also part of this game. 1999 ALCS Game #3 Pedro Martinez outdules one time Red Sox great Roger Clemens in a pitching matchups of Red Sox Past and Red Sox Present! April 2007 vs the rival New York Yankees: four consecutive homeruns are hit by four Red Sox players as the Sox out last the Yanks 7-6. These games are all the complete orginal television broadcasts of these historic games on dvd for the first time with special added highlights of other events of Red Sox history at famous Fenway Park picked by the Travel Channel and NBC Good Morning Show as one of the most famous landmarks in the country to visit. (Alot of people will be asking why Ted Williams Batting .406 in 1941 or any other games like that are not included on here, is because pryor to 1970, most sporting events were not video taped because of the lack of technology available to television!)Read full review
This was bought as a Christmas gift for my Red Sox fan son, who was not alive to see half of the games.
Verified purchase: Yes | Condition: New
Red Sox games from the World Series, the regular season, and a 1999 all-star tournament are featured on this collection. Each of the six games was staged at Fenway Park, which has hosted the Red Sox since 1912 and remains one of the oldest stadiums in the country.
Well as a Red Sox fan I couldn't miss this collectible, I have watched only three of these 6 games and I have to say that is like you were watching at it in the same day it was broadcasted. Red Sox Fans don't miss it...
I bought this for my husband and he loves it!! Says it's "great"! He loves how red sox nation got to choose what went on it.
