The game has an interesting feature that allow you to choose your path that will lead to one of four possible ending. The game combat system is creative as they let you switch between the Red/Blue and Black suit mid-combo allowing the player to string combo together using both suit (ground, air, and wall). Player can explore the street to the tallest building. Downside is that it can get repetitive throughout the game. Camera angle tend to be too frantic and spin all over the place when traveling. Game has several glitch where enemy disappear while you are hitting them. also, You sometime do wall combo in mid air. Overall - good games that allow you to explore New York from the street to the tallest building, but has it minor flaw here and there (especially the camera).
This is currently the best Spider-Man video game to date for the current generation of video game consoles (PS3, Wii and Xbox 360). It offers a lot of replay value, the ability to switch between the red & blue costume and the black costume (in the middle of game-play no less) but perhaps its best feature, free roam. You can swing across New York's skyline until your heart is content. The game-play is fun and pretty easy to pick up, the sound is good and the graphics are great. The one negative I have is the voice acting. Specifically Peter Parker. He sounds HORRIBLE and is quite annoying throughout the game.
Spider-man web of shadows is a must play for any fan of the web slingers video game series. With gameplay similar to spider-man 3, you quickly find that all the things you wished spider-man could do then are cool move he does now. From web shooting on command to at will changes between the black and red suits, spider-man web of shadows give you un-paralled control over the friendly neighborhood... you know. Complete with a cast of super hero contemporaries who assist you as you fight through a much more detailed, and more destructable NYC, this title warrants at least one play through. Re-playability factor isn't that high but with multiple endings and fun gamplay is is certainly a possibility.
Swinging through the city from your web, crawling up the side of a building, or jumping from roof top to roof top, this is a great game for children or adults. Has some violence due to the fact that its spiderman fighting villains but other than good for all ages. You can switch back and forth from regular spidy or dark spidy. You have to save civilians, take care of gang members and of course fight villains. You also have to collect glowing spider things to up grade spiderman and train with different moves to learn and purchase upgrades(new moves) using experiance points which you get from fights. Don't wont to give all the game away so you will have to play it for yourself. Great game!
There are tons of professional game review sites out there to read up on this and any other game, so I'll keep this simple. I bought this as a gift to someone, and they really enjoy the game. If you're a fan of Spider Man, and though the previous games were OK but missing something, you're sure to spend countless hours swinging through the city and fighting enemies, enjoying it more than the previous releases. If you're on the fence, I would strongly recommend renting or borrowing from a friend before making the purchase, as this game isn't for everyone.
