O.E.M. Part, fit perfectly
I would recommend getting the fasteners along with the shield( (4)sold separately) if the shield has rusted then the fasteners are probably not going to be able to be reused, 2 of the 4 broke while attempting to remove them. The shield is designed to reduce the heat from the exhaust to the fuel tank, which is probably to reduce the possibility of condensation within the tank( just a guess) I assumed if the car was designed with it, then it should probably be there and in good condition. Mine was resting against the exhaust pipe because the back half of the shield had rusted and was only being held by the front 2 bolts. This part gets rusty due to the heating and cooling, as well as being exposed to the elements of the road like most other exhaust components and it will get rusty over time. I painted mine with a hi temp. paint to reduce the rusting process a little bit, so we'll see how that works out. It took about an hour to install, my attachment points on the body were a little rusty, but still in good shape.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New
