This is and older version of this charger, made with a solid transformer and a diode that stops the continued charging when 13 to 14 volts are reached from the newly charged battery. Generally very safe to leave the charging overnight as it will fluctuate as needed on and off. It is also mountable with metal hardware under battery for vehicles that that you might store and then plug in as needed. This model is solid and weighs a couple of pounds. The newest version is a few ounces, has a zip tie to "mount" it to battery area, and has a computer chip which I am reading fails after two months of repeated use. Yes I am old-school but so is the older model which is dependable.
