I bought this game strictly to have fun with my family and grandchildren. It is not for the serious gamer or golfer. The antics and reactions of the avatars you create are one of the surprizing features of the game. Although limited, they add an unexpected dimension. I recommend adult involvement in the game simply to guide younger children both in successful play and in proper perspective of the character behaviors. While okay for this game environment, 'razzing' your opponents can be taken the wrong way in real life situations. Regarding game play, the controls take a little time to master and can be frustrating to the 'hardcore' gamer; however, in context of 'having fun' it is successful in that your actions do not consistently bring about the same result and that can lead to some hilarious consequences. Each minigolf course has 3 holes with interactive elements unique to its environment. Learning how to manuever thru the course and access the bonus features increases your potential to earn points redeemable for Avatar clothing and accessories. As always the greatest pleasure for me as an adult is to watch the reaction of a child as they encounter the hazards and succeed or fail in their attempts to master the course. I marvel at how they develop their own method of playing the game in order to reach their goal.Read full review
i love my wii system, love sports games. i enjoy putt putt golf i heard the carnival mini golf was the best one available. a little difficult at first which is ok. should allow more shots on some of the holes, a hole in one is nice but not a nescessaty, pars should have been allowed. nice graphics and extra features. game is good could have been a little better if it was a little more like real putt putt golf. a few more holes would have been nice also otherwise a good game.
first off the game does have a challangeing course selection and you can pick from a bunch of different people and costumes. What it does not have is the option to select easy, for the beginner or hard for the more advanced player., other then that it is a cool game where it takes alot of practice to advance and get the hang of the different courses and the hidden little tricks.
My son (5) is addicted to this game. We have had a lot of fun playing it since we got it. You have to play the Barker in order to get other courses opened. My son couldn't stop playing until he opened all of the courses and found all of the hidden surprises in each course. We would also play the Barker in order to find out the tricks on each hole. He is now playing his Dad's character in order to see how fast he can open the locked courses. Once you get everything open, it is still fun to play and earn the coins in order to purchase prizes from the pro shop. We love this game! It has been well worth the money.
This game is a great game for all ages. My fiance and I love miniature golf so this keeps us content during the off season. As far as the game...Its alittle tricky at first. The only negative we came across is that you cant really determine your back swing. It has great graphics and many different courses and extras. I would recommend this game for kids of all ages (my 4yr old nephew plays with us), adult couples having some friends over for a few drinks or just sitting home playing by yourself. Make sure you chk out Carnival games (made by same company). Loads of fun as well!!
