I love to watch Barefoot Contessa on the Food Network. I think she has lots of style. I bought the cookbook because I was trying to finish the set of Barefoot Contessa Cookbooks that I have, the first one being given to me by my husband for my birthday a few years ago. It's a great book, and I got it at a great bargain. I have cooked several things out of it already. In this book, Back to Basics, there are some very simple recipes that even us amateur cooks can prepare.
Cookbook author Ina Gaten's new "Barefoot Contessa Back to Basics" is the kind of book that every beginning cook should own. Her total approach says, "Preparing food that tastes good doesn't have to be complicated." That's the secret of Garten's success: six cookbooks, regular columns in three major magazines and, of course, her long-running Food Network series. The essence of Garten's cooking is creating dishes that can be prepared with half the fuss and still taste three-fourths as good. If that sounds like damning with faint praise, you really ought to give the book a try and see.
Great author and she has many books and enjoyed all

The recipes have few ingredients, clear instructions, and are delicious. Two excellent cooks recommended her books to me, as her recipes are all outstanding.

Beautiful cookbook. So pleasant to read. Ina Garten makes it pleasurable to cook. The pictures are great and the descriptions and instructions are easy to follow. In the back she has an index of resources to use to find the more obscure ingredients. For example, Trufffle Butter. I ordered mine from her recommendation and have been so happy with the service and quality. This will be the first cookbook in a growing collection of Barefoot Contessa cookbooks!
