I like the fact that it is a movie that any family can sit down and watch and not get any sexual contents. It is a nice clean movie and I wish they made more movies clean like that. Also it showed some good morrals to it that one can learn from in a sense. I bought it because I have several Faith Christian type of movies. Ace of Hearts was shown in a preview and I would like to collect more family oriented movies. Movies that are not perverted. Movies that are clean. Any more movies that are rated pg13 should be personally something even a 13 year old shouldn't be watching. But those are my 10 cents. Maybe I am more strict on that but even me being 29 doesn't like to see all of that sexual content stuff. Maybe it is what I believe now since I gave my life to Christ. He continues to change my heart more and more into the likeness of His own. If that makes sense. The more I get to know God and what His Word says (the bible) the more get to hate what He hates and love what He loves. Like any other relationship.Read full review
I decided to buy this movie for my daycare because i thought they would like it.it turns out this is one of the best movies i have seen for kids out in a long time.I am very much an animal lover and this movie showed just how much your pets can become a big part of your family.there was only one part of the movie that was a real tear jerker and it was when they were going to have to put the dog to sleep.I was very upset when this part showed and i am type of person that becomes very opinionated lol.it was all i could do to remember that i was watching it with kids.i enjoyed this movie so much i ended up watching it several more times after the kids left.I believe who ever gets this movie will not be disappointed and lets be honest the man that played the dad made it easy to keep watching.lolRead full review
I watched 20 minutes of this and had to shut it off. First don't watch this if you are an animal lover and do not show to young children. I am glad I watched this before my daughter she would have nightmares. First a prisoner escapes jail and is tracked by the dog Ace. The dog is then accused of injuring the prisoner and without any investigation is sent to be put to sleep. The police officer Dean Cain doesn't even argue with anyone and lets the dog go to be put to sleep. From the beginning you can tell how much he loves this dog. They show everything, getting the dog ready and taking it away. I know this is a true story so I know the dog wasn't going to be put to sleep but it was very unnerving watching this happen. The dog does escape but I turned it off. I am very disappointed. The preview sounds better than it started off. I won't finish watching it and I'm trying to get rid of it. Not for animal lovers or young children.Read full review
I liked the strong and loyal relationship between the dog and his trainer. Yet the trainer was devoting so much time to the dog that his daughter was feeling unloved. This is a good family film for older children. The bad guy is a little too violent, destructive, and even frightening for small children. The story was not as well written and acted out as "Second Hand Lions", but it was entertaining. The kids enjoyed seeing the dogs work. I am glad that I purchased this DVD, my family will continue to enjoy it occasionally.
I really enjoyed Ace Of Hearts. It is based on a true story of a K9 police dog. Being retired from law enforcement I had a friend who was our K9 handler. His dog's name was King (reminded me of Ace)but King did not have a happy ending. He was shot to death in the line of duty. My friend cried like a baby so I know how attached a K9 officer gets to his "partner." This is a movie the whole family can watch together and cry and laugh together also. FIVE stars in my book!
