Defective product that will create a severe oil leak within 5,000 miles of driving
I bought this product for my 4Runner and installed it according to the factory service manual. Within driving 5,000 miles I noticed smoke rising from under my hood after driving for 20 minutes or more. After an inspection, I found that oil was dripping from the valve cover seals and burning off of the exhaust manifold. Due to this being a severe oil leak I proceeded to purchase OEM gaskets from the local Toyota dealer and replace the ones that I purchased from this seller. Upon teardown of the engine, I found that the valve cover gaskets had become extremely brittle and shrunk considerably from the original size. The engine was not overheated or misused and the gaskets had been installed properly. Whether this product is not OEM or has just been sitting on the shelf for far too long it is a defective product.
