This is a 3-disc boxed set covering the most creative part of the Wailers' career. The music here is different from the late '70s Bob Marley of "Legend" fame. In Grooving Kingston 12, Marley, Peter Tosh and Bunny Wailer band together with some of Kingston's best musicians and help create the "roots" reggae style. There are some great songs here, such as "Concrete Jungle", "Lively Up Yourself","Small Axe", and one to rule them all, "Trenchtown Rock". Also included are instrumental tracks to many songs, worth hearing on their own merit, plus DJ-style toasts from U-Roy, Big Youth and Johnny Lover. There is also a number of Acoustic demos from Bob and other songs by the Wailers that are in a soul music style. You may or may not like these as much. They are included in the attempt to release ALL material by the Wailers from late 1966 to the end of 1972. The other box sets in this project are Fy-ah Fy-ah and Man To Man.Read full review
