As a huge Ghostbusters fan who had to pass this generation of gaming due to financial issues, I’m glad that I can finally experience this game. The graphics are great for their generation, the music is exactly like it is in the movies, and all four original Ghostbusters return to voice their characters. In fairness, it’s basically just fan service, but it’s satisfying. You gain upgrades to your pack, you get a bit more background into the past movies, and it’s just cool to run around and bust ghosts! I’d recommend it to people who love Ghostbusters.

Ghostbusters the video game was released in 2009 by terminal reality in Atari the writing of the game was done entirely by Harold Ramis and Dan Aykroyd who were the writers of the first and second movie the game itself feels like the third movie which we could be considered the third movie has great gameplay and also has a great story to go along with it well yes there are many problems with it such as the multiplayer not being online anymore and with some of the dialogue not syncing up with the voice acting and it not being a free roaming game will be sides of the promise it’s a fabulous game not only because it offers versatile weapons for the player to use in a different levels such as the proton stream the shock blast and the slime blower and also the CPS overall these new additions for weapons in the proton pack expand greatly on the Ghostbusters universe and so does this game with a whole new story and with all of the original cast repricing their roles in this game you will not regret playing this game!Read full review

The Game is much better than the PS2 system based game, even Graphics. and the constant freezing of the game on ps2 I Know I have the game for both systems. The PS2 game is good when you can be able to play threw the whole game:( But there must have been a problem with the way Inferno Engines made the game with Atari AKA BUGS or GLITCH (S) with the software, so Far I have Played the PS3 System based game without any problems, I'm Not encouraging any Ghost head or GB Fan not to buy the PS2 based system game but just warning you all in advance. Because I have my copy as a collectable Item. I bought my at Game Stop on Prepaid before the game was released got a cool T-shirt with it as a gift:)

This game is a must own for any Ghostbusters fans. It is fun and entertaining to play. A bit challenging at times but not to hard. It features the whole original cast and Slimer. It is rare and a tiny bit pricey but well worth it.

If you dug the movies, there's no reason that you should be disappointed with Ghostbusters: The Video Game. There are some moments that cause the game to stumble, but you're getting a new tale in the Ghostbusters canon, fun gameplay, a whole bunch of stuff to destroy, and some cool ghosts to scan. I felt that the game's ending was a bit flat and the romantic interest was forced, but Ghostbusters is a hell of a ride. 7.5 Presentation The game plays like the third movie in the way it opens and is presented to fans, but some scenes need work. There are moments that don't fit here and there, but overall, it's sweet. 7.5 Graphics The proton streams look great, the ghosts are detailed, and the CG cutscenes rock; but the in-game cutscenes are rough, there's screen-tearing and some aliasing issues. 8.0 Sound The voices make the experience, but I wish Murray didn't sound like he was doing an impression of Venkman. The original music is nice, but it's used a bit too much. 8.0 Gameplay Who doesn't love tearing apart ballrooms and libraries with a Proton Pack? The Meson Collider's worthless, but it's fun to wrangle ghosts into traps. 8.0 Lasting Appeal A playthrough should take about eight hours, however, there are hidden artifacts to go back for and the multiplayer is actually a lot of fun for ghostheads. 8.0 ImpressiveRead full review

To answer the questioning title of this review, it's a little of both. Ghostbusters: The Video Game does feature the original film cast reprising their roles, this time as voice actors for the game. While the graphics are rockin', the story is just so-so and the gameplay is rather monotonous. I know what you're thinking, you bust ghosts, the end. True, but I'd like to make it more fun than it is in this game. Everything seems a bit hurried in the game which relates to the flat story. Once you get the hang of bringing a ghost that's trapped in your beam towards the actual ghost trap, it gets a little better but some more pizzazz could have went into development. Don't get me wrong, the game is worth at least a rental but I would suggest a purchase only for hardcore fans of the film.
Really fun video-game. The graphics are great for the PS3. Plus the sound effects are of the same quality as the movies, so it really puts you in the world of being a Ghostbuster. If you're a Ghostbusters fan, then this game is for you. It's definitely worth adding to your collection. Hope my review helps. That is all and have a good day!

this is the Ghostbusters game that fans have been waiting for. plenty of different enemy types, different weapon types, varied environments, a new cannon story (that is pretty good btw), and the main and minor actors return to lend their voice to the game. the good: the graphics are pretty good, the faces of the characters are particularly good. the sounds effects are perfect. the musical score is right on but it can get repetitive and no Ghostbusters theme song at the start menu. almost everyone returns to voice their characters and it really makes it feel like the unofficial third movie. the bad: during really hectic parts you will see frame drop on the ps3 version at least. i actually found a glitch that lowered the game to 5-10 frames until i quit and reloaded (i wasnt able to repeat the glitch fortunately). venkmen's audio kinda repeats too much and it took me out of the game a little. difficulty can be pretty harsh on anything but easy (rookie, i think) but on easy, it is too easy and you kinda steam roll everything. atleast that was the case with me. you can upgrade the proton wand to be more accurate but then you don't get the cool arching stream the movies had. overall, if you like Ghostbusters, just buy it. it's less than $20 now. its not perfect, but if you dont go into it expecting game of the year material, then youll really enjoy it.Read full review
